Business Unit Head, Sleep - Germany & Austria

Reporting directly to the General Manager Germany/Austria, the BU Head for Sleep is responsible for the leadership of the Sleep team and establishment of the Sleep Business Unit in Germany/Austria. The successful candidate will be accountable for the flawless execution of the preparation, launch and eventual in market commercialization of Jazz sleep medicine products in Germany/Austria.The incumbent has responsibility for ensuring all activities are executed in accordance with regulatory and legal frameworks including but not limited to, ABPI/local legislation and guidelines, EFPIA, GCP and IFPMA regulations as well as Jazz Pharmaceuticals Policies and Healthcare compliance procedures.Essential Functions
Collaborate with the European launch team and drive product adoption within EMA-approved indications in line with local country requirements
Deploy a multi-pronged approach that engages key centers, thought leaders, patient societies/associations, and other stakeholders and influencers in Germany and Austria
Responsible for implementation of the business strategy and aligning local strategy and tactics with the local market conditions, in line with overall Sleep strategy of the EU&RoW
In close collaboration with EUROW Sleep function, create, implement and deliver on brand goals including input into longer term brand projects in Germany and Austria
Identify, diagnose and address country specific performance – course correcting where necessary
Contribute to and disseminate understanding of trends and best practice.
Monitor ongoing performance and stakeholder feedback in a robust fact-based business review process and identify opportunities for improvement, focusing on the development of efficiencies and operational improvements, such as administration efficiency, cost control, revenue management, legal compliance and human resource management.
Manage resources (including budget) across the Business Unit
Responsible for P&L of the business unit
Effectively lead the business unit team and drive successful financial, operational and employee performance results to achieve stated goals for the assigned franchise
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proven success in healthcare sales/marketing leadership role across multiple distribution channels
Proven leadership success including building teams
Ideally experience in setting up a new team from scratch
Significant knowledge of country health care environment including pricing / access
Significant experience within a related therapeutic area (e.g. CNS or Sleep Medicine)
Strong commercial acumen combined with progressive leadership skills
Proven success launching new products, market shaping and launch readiness activities
Ability to critically analyse complex data
Excellent problem solving and decision making skills to identify, understand and propose plans to address business issues and opportunities
Clear and concise communication and presentation skills
Excellent planning and organisation skills
Strong inter-personal relationship building skills/collaboration and teamwork
Excellent command of German and English
Required/Preferred Education and LicensesStrong preference for a Science or Business Graduate
