Project Leader - Nonclinical Drug Development Biologics

Make a difference. Be responsible for NBE and ATMP projects of various formats in the indication areas of oncology, inflammation, retinopathy, cardiovascular, respiratory and metabolic diseases. Lead global, cross-functional development teams, and provide a key contribution in advancing our development portfolio to deliver new medications for patients and assure long-term profitability of a globally leading and family-owned pharmaceutical company. As a Project Leader, you combine a sound experience in pharma industry with expertise in a key area of nonclinical NBE/ATMP drug development. You have proven leadership skills and are able to represent your projects in an international project strategy team. Tasks & responsibilities You steer all nonclinical development activities with a team of up to 20 experts from several departments. As team member in international Core Teams, you present all nonclinical aspects of drug development, shape indications and development strategy of your projects and interact with regulatory authorities and external partners. As Project Leader you are responsible for all nonclinical aspects of in-depth evaluations of licensing opportunities and of BI-internal proposals for new indications, formulations and combinations. You frequently present the status, progress and critical issues of your projects at steering committees and prepare project decisions. The accountability for the timely provision of nonclinical contributions for an MAA/NDA submission dossier, and other regulatory documents, is part of your responsibilities. You lead or participate in strategic initiatives to improve the drug development process at Boehringer Ingelheim. Requirements Doctoral degree in Natural or Life Sciences desirable, alternatively Master’s degree with several years of experience in a relevant field Several years of sound experience in the pharmaceutical industry and in one of the key areas of nonclinical drug development Proven leadership skills either as project leader or as disciplinary lead in line functions Agile and entrepreneurial thinking and the ability to focus on key aspects Capability to work in a fast paced, global environment Excellent communication skills in English, optional also in German WHY BOEHRINGER INGELHEIM?
