Systems Engineer (f/m/x)

EBG MedAustron GmbH in Wiener Neustadt operates one of the most modern centers for particle therapy and research in Europe. Cancer patients are treated with an innovative form of radiation therapy with protons and carbon ions. In addition to cancer treatment the facility is also used for translational research. Our Medical Device Safety team is responsible for the safety architecture of the Therapy Accelerator, the compliance to medical standards and patient safety critical systems.

Systems Engineer (m/f/x)
full-time (40 hours weekly)
Challenges you conquer:
You gain deep insight into the safety relevant accelerator systems and the system architecture of MedAustron's accelerator. Based on this you take into service and troubleshoot safety relevant accelerator components. Moreover, you contribute to the further development of the accelerator. In detail:

Define and execute commissioning and testing procedures for safety systems
Analyze test results using existing and new analysis tools
Demonstrate compliance to safety standards in particular to IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-2-64
Together with our QA department, perform risk analysis and define risk mitigation measures on both a component as well as system level
Collaborate with other teams and departments to ensure that user requirements are met
Contribute to the commissioning and integration of safety systems, which requires shift work and on-call duty

A background that impresses:

University degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or comparable
Minimum of 3 years of occupational experience in development of safety critical systems
Basic knowledge in programming languages such as Python, VHDL, C++, C#, LabView
Basic knowledge on electronics hardware design
Ideally knowledge of safety standards and state of the art safety technology
Fluent in verbal and written communication in English, German is an advantage
You are a creative and proactive person that is driven by self-initiative and keeps the overview over different tasks
You learn quickly and solve problems pragmatically
Willing to fulfill shift work and on-call support

For the advertised position we offer a gross annual salary from € 44.000,-- (on a full-time basis) with the possibility of overpayment, depending on professional qualifications and experience.
